House Church: Families on Mission

New Community Church is not just a place to go to on the weekends. We are a family of house churches! House church is where we share life together on God’s mission in the everyday stuff of life. These Christ-centered communities allow us to declare and demonstrate the gospel to others in tangible and everyday ways.

Each house church has its own team of shepherds that facilitates the group. We view Jesus as the head pastor of all of the house churches in the New Community Church family. House churches are organized around a specific mission or a pocket of people. Members in house churches are encouraged to explore their gifting and talents for the good of the body and not-yet-believers.

A house church will have a mix of all ages, diverse groups of people representative of the area in which they live. This allows us to pour into one generation to another and to create the diversity necessary to reach the community around us.

Many house churches engage in ministry in their neighborhood. For example, one house church organizes a weekly food & supply trailer for the homeless in Xenia. House churches are expressions of the church, just at a smaller scale so together we can engage in authentic Christ-centered community in a way that allows our neighbors to see God's Kingdom on display.

New to Community?

Joining a house church for the first time can be a scary experience, especially if you are new to the group and you have no idea what to expect. Will anyone talk to you? Will you enjoy the experience? If it doesn’t work out will you be able to face these people again?

We would like to help you bypass all the stress and uncertainty of joining a house church by providing a unique four-week opportunity called New to Community House Church (a.k.a. N2C). This experience will allow you to enjoy house church with others who are also new to the house church experience. Our staff, elders and their spouses will be your hosts to guide you through all the wonderful things a house church has to offer.

N2C is offered three times per year: Winter, Spring and Fall. To find out when our next N2C house church is offered or find out more, click below.

Connect to a House Church

We would love to help you get connected! If you would like to be a part of a house church, we have multiple opportunities, all around the area, meeting on different days and times. We will help you find one that works for you. You can fill out an interest form below or contact house churches directly using the interactive map that follows.

Look for a house church on the map below that’s nearby or fits your schedule. Click on the “house” icon to open information about each house church. Then simply email the house church(es) you would like to learn more about. Someone from the house church will let you know where and when to join and answer questions you might have.

Email connect@newcommunity.family with any questions about connecting or stop by the Connect Table in the foyer on Sundays. We’d love to serve you and answer any questions.

We ask that you spend a few weeks with a new house church since joining something new takes time. But if it’s not a good connection, feel free to come back to this map to visit other house churches.
