First Samuel Series (1 Samuel 31:1-13)

This book of the Old Testament serves as a major transition between the time of the judges, when "there was no king and everyone did what was right in their own eyes" (Judg. 21:25) and the time of the kings when the people "rejected me (God) from being king over them" (I Sam. 8:7). The book of First Samuel addresses authority; who should rule? and how? Important and relevant questions for the church today.
